In September 2007, we picked up a Rough Green Snake on the way down the street to meet our Grandson's bus from Kindergarten. "Crawly" died today. In his honor, I post some of my favorite snakes on coins.

I posted my one snake coin earlier today, so I'll forego repeating myself, but I will say that my son had a python for a while until the critter mysteriously died. I found it difficult to believe someone could get emotionally attached to a snake, but my son was absolutely beside himself. The situation has since been rectified with another python.

Sorry about the pet snake. I've never had a pet snake, but I talk to them when I find them in the yard or on the fense. Most people I know are stupid scared over snakes. I think they are great to have around for obvious reasons. Like most creatures, they are more afraid of humans.

Here's a rather simplistic portrayal of a snake:

I've owned a number of snakes and loved them all, but after a while a wife gets irritated when you tell her a 7' constrictor is loose somewhere in the house.... Sad about the loss!

Nice Claudius Nemo. Although I think my portrait is better, I wish mine was whole like yours, especially on the reverse.

Nice coins brother. Haven't seen much of you here of late. And I hear you're giving your coins away. Let me know the next time you need some cash. I have a buck or two to spare.

Yea its been rough this winter season, not a lot of time. Working a lot but unfortunately no new coins. I have had to scale back tremendously, the rising cost of everything (food, fuel, taxes) is appalling. I like to think of it as thinning the heard rather than giving them away. I have had couple of bites which helps but I always struggle with separation anxiety when it comes to these things.

BTW- I love Wimpy, the original slacker, I often wear a novelty t-shirt with this pattern...

If your really need help holding some money I could probably help you take strain off your pocket...send me a PM and we could figure something out.

I also once had a Ball Python, I had it for years, it was a healthy female and the wife and her mother harassed me until I donated her to a local reptile store for dear it would eat my son. (I call bologna on that) It is still a touchy subject, we don't discuss in the house.
