Man, I absolutely "love" this new coin ... I paid through the nostrils for it, but I know that once the capital-purchase sting wears off, they'll be nuthin' but good feelings remaining!!

=> I hope that you enjoy my new favourite coin!!

Nice take on the Herakles bust. Nice to see one before Alex3 played it out.

Looking at this piece further, I am interested in the surface, I would love to know how the textile type texture formed n the surface. Is t as pronounced in hand?

Love the coin in total, but it would have been the reverse that sold me. Congrats.

=> Hi Noob ... I don't actually have this baby in-hand, yet (just won it today => yah-yah, I know about the Doug-jinx ... Homie don't roll that way!!)

    ;)

    ... anyway ...

I'm sure hoping that it is as pronounced in-hand (I seem to hunt coins with this cool texture, and they have never let me down in the past)

Here are a couple of sweet examples:

Lovely coin. I particularly like the way the horse is waving goodbye to your budget.

I love the Herakles-theme with the "amazing" lion-skin head-dress, the super-cool coin fabric, the uber-cool horse!! .... sweet flan, great centering

=> yup, it's the total package, my friend!! (thanks for noticing)

Yah, I asked your advice about this coin a couple of weeks ago and you said that I'm probably gonna pay too much, but that I'll be happy with my purchase (and once again, you were 100% correct)

... thanks for your help ...

hey, in my defence => the coin-Gods smiled on me and gave me that other coin for a smile (I believe in coin-karma!!)

Agreed... all kinds of good stuff going on with this coin. I've been noticing Skotoussa issues this year, but haven't gotten myself one yet. Must rectify next year...

Another great coin, Steve! I don't know how that sort of surface texture happens, but my experience is that you don't really see it on small coins unless you pull out the magnifying glass. It looks quite dramatic in big images, but not so much in real life - it just sort of adds a shimmer to the coin.

I can't argue with that. One of these days I'll play in your league, hopefully. For now, just look for me in the dumpster.
