Ancients => Colourful, Colourful, Colourful ... ummm, did I mention Colourful?

Yah, I have been eyeing-up this baby for the past little while, trying to haggle with the seller and this morning we finally agreed upon a sweet enough price ... but honestly, once I saw this bad-boy I knew that it was eventually comin' home to PaPa!!

As you may have gathered, I seem to have a side-collection going-on regarding these sweet, sweet Alexandrian A-Pius AE Drachms!! (I love them ... with, or without animals!!)

... anyway ...

Oh, and not only is this bad-boy "colourful" ...

=> it is fricken massive!! (34 mm and weighin'-in at 27.15 grams!!)

Wow, Steve, that's a standout! Sharp portrait, interesting reverse, and check out that crazy quilt of colors on the obverse... it's like having Willy Wonka's chocolate factory on a coin. Nicely done!

Very nice but I still like your bull best. This one has very little wear for Alexandrian drachms. I do like the red. Mine just has red beard.

 

I am so jealous. You have great taste and a knack for finding very cool coins! The Zodiac drachm, Triptolemus, and Serapis and company on the runway are my favorites.
