This arrived today - bought it about a month ago and the sellers pictures made it look very brown and boring, it was a nice surprise when I opened the envelope FL VAL CONSTANTIVS NOB C - Bust right, Laureate. GENIO POPV-LI ROMANI - Genius, naked standing left, modus on head holding patera and cornucopiae 296AD - RIC VI Lugdunum 17a (p243) Dark patina rubbed off the high points leaving a rather attractive copper/red toning and a smattering of verdigris, I think I like it even better than my (avatar) green 17a. FL VAL CONSTANTIVS NOB C - Bust right, Laureate. GENIO POPV-LI ROMANI - Genius, naked standing left, modus on head holding patera and cornucopiae 296AD - RIC VI Lugdunum 17a (p243) Which coin do you guys prefer and do you have any nice green folles of your own?
Both are eye-candy, but I prefer the first. It's a bit more subtle, and the contrast between the patina and the exposed bronze is very dramatic. I don't have a green follis, but this little semis came in the mail today - I was also pleasantly surprised when I opened it because the seller's image indicated it had a blue patina, and it actually did! My own pic...
I believe I like the first coin you have presented; however, both are pretty darn nice. Congrats. :thumb:
I like both of them but I'd have to say I like the engraving style slightly better for the first one.
