This is my second coin i just picked up, pretty much the same as the other Maximinus ll that i posted, Genius holding Serapis head, this one he's holding Sol's head... Maximinus ll..309-313..AD.. Ae Follis.. Obv. laureate head right.. Rev. Genius standing left, holding head of Sol in right and cornucopia in left hand. Star in left field, H in right field.. Mint Antioch..ANT 20mm x 4.88 g. Dark brown patina, most of silvering still intact.. Looks like a die crack Rev. 2 to 4 o'clock..i think anvil side down rev., Hammer side obv.???
Your new coin has a neat & high grade reverse. There is great detail in Sol's head. Just so the typo doesn't doesn't stick, you could quickly edit the word "brake" which should probably be "break" or "crack"
Fantastic coin Eng. I really like the detail on the reverse. The Genus standing L holding head of Sol & cornucopia is one of the more interesting reverses I've seen.
=> I totally agree (until Bannon just mentioned it, I hadn't noticed that the Genus was holding the head of Sol ... I merely assumed it was a globe or something less dramatic/awesome) => again, it's a great coin, my friend!!
Thanks for the comments, this is my second head in hand issue i have one more, not ready to post it..
you got another one? I think this one is ever better as well..., a super crisp reverse...right on ENG!
