Another in the hallway happy dance for me today. The last of my 'birthday presents' arrived. Sadly though only one will remain with me since I need to replace my computer that after 6 long years finally said good night and good luck. I had been seeing so many of these types ( I blame you TIF) that when I saw a lot of three at the most recent Triskeles at a price I could afford I thought why the heck not. I can't give you the full attributions yet or the weights (need to find my scale) but they all range between 6 - 8 mm. Bonus points if you can guess the one I am going to keep. Sorry about the pictures as well the tablet isn't that good at fine detail and if I tried to crop the photo it made the coin come out grainy. I present three coins from Kyzikos Coin #1 Boar right, tunny fish behind Roaring head of lion left Coin #2 Boar Left Roaring Lion head left, Panther head facing forward Coin #3 Boar left tunny fish behind Lions head left Wish I could keep all three and knowing me will probably keep at least two. I can tell you this though one definitely caught my eye right off the bat.
Personally, I like coins 2 and 3, but I suspect you will be keeping coin 3. Nice incuse square and good detail on both sides. Amazing little coins with so much detail. I don't know though. That panther head is unique. Hmmmm......
All three are lovely. The lions head on 2 of them are really bold. I know the feeling of having to part with stuff to replace an electronic or appliance. This year was having to replace a washer :/
Just since I've been on the wagon from buying coins, I've had to replace a built in Microwave and now fix a very expensive ($6k) hood vent. When I bought this house, it came with all upscale appliances. So I thought I'd be good for many years. Not so. Every appliance has had to be repaired or replaced. Give me the more affordable GE appliances. That's what was in military quarters and we seldom had any problems. Now back to the coins......
I would gladly take one of each. That's a neat set to have, the three little pigs. TIF's gonna bug when she sees these.
Was was new 13 years ago but the drum rusted and it leaked oil. Got a used one from my dads friend who rebuilds them. Some maker from new zealand. Kinda fancier with some water use sensing, quieter and so on. Cant complain for $100. It works.
OH!! You got THAT lot!! Good for you, Whizbro! Glad they stayed in the family You're right... I did take a serious look at them, didn't bid though because of other targeted items in that auction and others around that time. Congratulations on picking up some fine swine! Five Fruit Salute! Oh wait, wrong forum. (PS--if they'd had wings, I'd have bid you up til you bled )
The computer was 6 years old so it wasn't all that bad. It guided me through my university years and survived countless accidental drops and chocolate that had melted in my back pack and worked its way into the fan. The rest of the my appliances are generally brand new everywhere I lived before this had the majority installed and the stove and the fridge both came with the apartment so if anything happens I call the caretaker(the 'superintendent' if I spelled that correctly so we avoid the confusion that I live in an old folks home again) TIF I knew you would recognize it. If they had wings you wouldn't have bid me up far. This was a one and only bid at the opening price win. It was definitely number 3 that caught my eye. Although I have been told by another collector that the boar right is somewhat scarce. Just makes me want all three even more!
Three sweet lookin' coins, my friend (congrats) Hmmm? ... I think I like the coin with the roaring Lion and the forward-facing panther (coin #2) Man, ya gotta love the animal-coins, eh?
