Although I had one already I unloaded it as part of a trade for my galba tetradrachm. I was very bored with it due to the "Concordia" reverse. I had my eye on this for awhile and got it for much less then what my trade credit was for my old one. Plus I liked it was a scarcer reverse for her and its much heavier then my old one was, at 3.6g. Otacilla Severa, (244 - 249 A.D.) AR Antoninianus O: M OTACIL SEVERA AVG, diademed and draped bust right, resting on a crescent. R: IVNO CONSERVAT, Juno standing left, holding patera and scepter. Rome, 246 - 248 A.D. 24mm 5.1g RIC 127; RSC 20
I agree with your ID but also believe RIC 127 note is correct assigning this reverse to Antioch. I am not sure that all of these are Eastern but I do believe mine is. At one time there were people who disagreed on this one. I do not know the latest thinking.
Wow, that's a beautiful addition, Mat (congrats) ... I only have one antoninianus to add to your thread ... Otacilia Severa & Concordia AR Antoninianus
Great addition Mat. Otacilla is one I wouldn't mind having more of. Otacilia Severa, Augusta February or March 244 - September or October 249 A.D. Silver antoninianus, SRCV III 9158, RIC IV 130, RSC IV 43, Choice gVF, 4.523g, 23.0mm, 180o, Rome mint, 247 A.D.; obverse OTACIL SEVERA AVG, draped bust right set on crescent; reverse PIETAS AVGVSTAE, Pietas, veiled, standing left, extending right, box of incense in left; full circles strike, bold portrait.
