    I always enjoy describing my collecting interests as 'Coins I like at prices I can afford.' Your collecting direction strikes me as even more random than mine which makes you interesting to know.

    Cool coin steve! I don't think I'll be getting into Greek anytime soon but I feel like I've got to get at least one in the near future (with Greeks its only a party of two in my collection at the moment lol).

    Hey Jango ... thanks for commenting

    Ummm, that's very different from my collection ... I have roughly 50% Greeks (approximately 80 coins are "BC 150" or earlier)

    Then the remaining 50% are spread amongst RR's, Romans, Byzantine and "the others"

    Wow, I'm finding it hard to fathom that only Derick "likes" this coin ... seriously? (this was my favourite of my three recent purchases!!?)

    ... huh, it is really funny/interesting how different we all are, eh?

    => thanks for your coin-comments (you guys rock!!) ... there is definitely no "wrong or right answer"

    Cheers, fellas!!

    :cheers:

    The Marcianopolis pentassarion was just too cool. It stole my likes from this coin. ;)

    ahahahaha ... yah, I hear that quite often (from my wife(s), from my bosses, etc) ... I admit that I am a tad random, but hey, it keeps it interesting (yes?)

    Hey Doug => I do have a few "primary groupings", but because they are usually animal-groupings, the coin-disciplines vary more than other collectors, right?

    => yah, and/or I really have no real direction ... it's shotgun-scatter collecting strategy 101

    This is a nice coin compared to most of the size from Alexandria. I had some questions about the denomination system and was not all that surprised to find that I was not alone. Rather than trying to explain questions no one else may care about, I'll offer a link to a page that I found informative. Be sure to read and digest the top sections above the start of the photos before looking at all the nice coins. I own nothing smaller than an obol from Alexandria so have nothing to compare here.

    Hi Doug ... thanks for the info!!

    Yah, I found the link quite interesting ... however, after reading and semi-digesting the 'top sections', I was a bit confused (I am now pretty confident that this Trajan Rhino coin is a dichalkon, but I am now a bit confused whether my new purchase is actually a dichalkon, or whether it might be a hemiobelion, a hemiobol, 10 drachms, 20 drachms, ahhhhhhh!!)

    ... luckily, the pretty photos of all the nice coins settled me down a bit ...
