Ancient Jewish (?) Gold coin w/ Hebrew engraving. Advice or translation appreciated.

    What I have here is a thin 2.7 gram Ancient Jewish gold coin with what I believe is a Hebrew engraving. I'd really appreciate any help you might be able to provide. Thanks in advance!

    The ancient Jewish kingdom never made any gold. Yours appears to be islamic.

    I second the opinion on early Islamic - the script was a lot more "blocky" earlier on.

    I think it's more likely to be Ghaznavid than Mongol. Try posting it at Zeno.ru

    thanks for the tip. I tried to post it and it says new user registrations now allowed. Also it does not look at all like either of the two Ghaznavid gold coins posted on that site.
