Went to my coin club last night, one member travels for Boeing and did a World coin talk, Many Country's visited he would pick up there coin's. interesting, he couldn't find any coin shop's in Russia, or China, lot's of shops with our and many other Country's fakes. I picked up my second Illyria coin last night. post a cow bull ,calf, or any Illyria coin you got. Illyria, Apollonia 229-100BC.. Ar, Drachm. Obv. Cow standing right, looking back at calf, (something to the right of cow's head any idea's). not sure what's on the bottom of this coins obverse. Rev. double stellate pattern surrounded by moneyer's name. 17mm x 3.18g.
I like your new addition, but I have to admit I try to stay away from these since they seem to be faked often enough. Yet, I still own one: ILLYRIA AR Drachm OBVERSE: MENISKOS, cow & calf, Nike flying above with wreath, thunderbolt in ex REVERSE: DYR KAL LW NOS around double stellate pattern Dyrrachium 70-60 BC 3.22g, 17mm Ceka 322
cool coin club pick up ENG.....I still don't have one either! one of the type was a "finalist" in my last round, but I went for a little mysian boar/lion instead....so still on my infamous list.
Atta-boy, my awesome West Coast brother ... => man, I love these sucklin' cow coins!! sadly, my example is a bit off-center (oh well ... I still love the lil' darling!!) => congrats on another sweet new pick-up (I hope that Spring/Summer is treatin' the coast well enough) Oh, and I also have a very, very cool brockage-error coin to toss into the mix ... I hope that you like it!! (cheers, brother)
