Yah-yah, I know that I'm goin' on my summer-vacation ASAP, but seriously my brothers, I had to jump on-board this super cool coin!! Please welcome "KLAZ" Ionia, Klazomenai. Æ19 Mid-late 4th century B.C. Diameter: 19 mm Weight: 4.63 grams Obverse: Bust of Athena facing slightly right, wearing triple-crested Attic helmet Reverse: KLAΖOME/NIΩN in two lines above, ram walking right; in right field, trophy Reference: SNG Munich 484; SNG Copenhagen 86 Other: 5 h … Mottled red, tan and green patina. Good very fine Ex CNG E222, 555 (part) Oooowwwwwww baby!! ... I'm lovin' the looks o' this new addition ... => pretty cool portait, a sweet lookin' ram ... and mind blowin' multi-coloured patina!! *enjoy*
=> I tossed-in this lil map, because I myself always like to know where the coins originally came from (Huh? ... Ionia looks like a nice place to visit, eh?)
Ummm, here is another kinda cool tid-bit I came across while researching this awesome lil' coin: ... kinda cool
Yah, I must admit that I was slightly intrigued by the "perspective" of this new coin: ... ummmm, this seemed like a slightly different "view" than normal, but maybe I was merely a bit drunk at the time?
vlaha => hey coin-brother, thanks for chiming-in on my thread ... how is your night treatin' ya? (I'm doin' well) ... Ummm, I'm "pretty sure" that the colours are merely associated with the minerals that were in the surrounding-ground during the past 2400 years ... However, somebody else may have a different view and may agree that perhaps "fire-scale" is a possibility? (sorry, I am not an expert's expert, by any means) ... => ummm, but I do consider myself an amazing judge of great coin-character and once again, I am very pleased with my new purchase ... *blush*
Hey, thanks Doug!! (cheers) => great!! => awesome, I always get a wee bit extra-giddy when I hear that you approve!!
Great 3/4th Facing Coin! 3/4th facing coin busts are one of the Lost Arts of the Ancients.... Awesome Coin!!
I've always liked coins with Athena on them ... Yup, there is just something "awesome" about the whole Athena thingy, yes?
Hmmm? ... yup, family can be a wee bit tiring ... But they're still your "family", so try to enjoy them, because they're kinda like your "family coins" ... right? Sure, maybe nobody likes crazy Uncle Caligula, but he's still "family", so enjoy them while you still have them ... Cheers, lil dawg
ahahaha ... Ummm, hopefully you're talking about the lil' Bings, rather than referring to good ol' Uncle Kevin and his late-night pee-capers!!
he ram is cool, but athena just looks amazing..the slightly off "facing" view is fantastic. another super coin. don't take my word for it, ask chuck norris!
