Absolutely awesome, my favourite West Coast Halibut!! (once again, congrats on the Seahawk victory) => *sweet* => that is a beautiful new pick-up ... I love ya, brother!!
Thanks for the comments..i have a couple more to posts in the future.. Steve i'm going Fishing in a couple weeks, so i'll be the West Coast Steelhead..yummmm..
Always thought the 'head on the platter' look was John The Baptist. Ain't seein' it here so I'll just cut bait.......
Neat, Eng! I have the Sol companion piece. I never thought of it as 'head on a platter'... but that's hilarious. I admit when I first saw this type I thought.. whoa, Genius decapitated Sol/Serapis and is tossing his head about. Then I read it was really a bust rather than a head... what a letdown. MAXIMINUS II as Augustus Reduced Follis (4.65g, 21mm) Antioch mint, 309-313 AD. RIC 164b. O: IMP C GAL VAL MAXIMINVS P F AVG, Head laureate right. R: GENIO - AVGVSTI, Genius standing l., modius on head, holding head of Sol and cornucopia, ANT in exergue, * - Z in field. Ex Phillip Davis Collection
I have an example that I scored from Batman (it's one of my favourite coins) Maximinus II AE Follis Date: 308 AD Diameter: 24.3 mm Weight: 8.2 grams Obverse: GAL VAL MAXIMINVS NOB CAES - Laureate bust of Maximinus II Reverse: VIRTVS EXERCITVS - Mars in military dress, holding transverse spear, shield and trophy over shoulder. X in l. field, B/K in right field References: RIC 83
