    I bought three new beauties last week, came in today's mail. here's the first...

    Roman Imperial..
    Maximinus ll...312-313..AD..
    Ae Follis..
    Obv.Laureate bust right..
    Rev. Genius standing left,holding head of Serapis in right hand and cornucopia in left head.
    Star in right field N/ palm front in left.( delta in right field).
    Mint..Alexandria.
    19mm x 5.0 g.
    Lot's of silvering intact..

    Ive always liked these reverse types with the head being held. Its just another thing on my list, near bottom.

    Neat, Eng! I have the Sol companion piece. I never thought of it as 'head on a platter'... but that's hilarious. I admit when I first saw this type I thought.. whoa, Genius decapitated Sol/Serapis and is tossing his head about. Then I read it was really a bust rather than a head... what a letdown.

    Reverse: VIRTVS EXERCITVS - Mars in military dress, holding transverse spear, shield and trophy over shoulder. X in l. field, B/K in right field

    Zumbly, wow awesome coin, that's my second coin i'll post later, doing a small coin show here locally today..

    Steve that a beautie, these coins have great details and are pretty cheap..
