So, I haven't seen a contest for ancient coins for a while. I propose a simple one. Simply guess how many ancient coins I will take possession of in the month of March. I will not be looking at anyone's guesses, (and frankly am really out of coin money for the month anyway), but will continue to receive packages in the mail. As a hint, there are three group purchases as part of my purchasing so far. There is no "closest without going over" clauses, whomever is closest, either higher, lower, or perfect guess, will win. I will announce the winner shortly after the month is over.

The winner will receive a new copy of Overstruck Greek Coinage.

As a bonus you can guess how much the dollar total was for the coins. If the winning guesser was within $100 of the total purchase price, I will throw in a second ancient coin book. As a hint for this part, two of the coins I will be receiving I have been chasing for quite a while, but OTOH I am really cheap.

    Best of luck to everyone!

You're a hoarder and I have an idea how much you spend on coins, so I'm going to go with 17 coins, $1500.
