I have been selling the remains of the collection of my 90-year-old friend DC.

Not much is left, but I reduced, again, the prices on everything that remains. There are at least a few that are quite special. All of them are now very low priced.
The special ones include some illustrations of the minting process, including an amazing Byzantine flip double strike and a very early siglos fourree. There is an unusual Justinian follis with a bent M. How could that happen? There is an unlisted Theodosius II, 402-450. AE4 with cross above the obverse head. If you would like an AE4 monogram of Anastasius, there are several to choose from at really low prices.
The prize of the group is medieval. There is a pre-1500 AD dated large (26 mm) silver coin of Aachen.
The remaining Byzantine and provincial coins are cheap.
Take a look, and while you are there, feel free to click on the link to my other pages of ancient coins.

Persian siglos, 4th C. BC. 15 mm. This one is a very early counterfeit--a fourree, with silver plated over base metal, as you can see flaked off on the body of the king striding right.
I find it interesting that criminals were inventive and at work so soon after coins were invented. [$49, reduced to $35, reduced to $29]

    Justin II, 565-578. 18-14 mm.
Sear 385. Lovely green patina. Excellent for type [$29, reduced to $16, reduced to $12]
