Hi guys, does anyone know if this coin is real or just a "charm"?
I had a trip to China couple yrs ago. They were having a road construction and people were digging for coins at night. :smile Fortunately I was able to get some, too.

I believe it is a coin from Shun-chi 1644-1661, although such coins were minted in terms of MILLIONS.

hmm, looks real... This is suppose to be a shun zhi emperor coin from early qing dynasty... shandong mint. obverse inscription: shun zhi tong bao, reverse: bao dong ... a few varietes for this type on the chinese characters... not expensive, abt $2-3 coz very high mintage.

That looks like a pretty nice one. We get these in the shop all the time. We usually sell them for about 50 cents, though I understand that some are more desirable than others. VERY similar coins were minted in China, Thailand, Vietnam....most everywhere in Asia, I think.

Genuine. Attributions above appear to be correct.
