Ancient Chinese Bronze Imitation Cowrie (ca 1000-200 BC). $40 Very scarce type, and hard to find intact. The patina is quite attractive as well. These were used as a replacement for real cowries for some uncertain reason, and they could be the basis of the later ant-nose coins. Ancient Chinese "Ming Hua" (ca 300-220 BC) $65 Another very scarce type cast by the state of Yan (same state to produce the Ming knives). The "Ming" character is the same as that on the obverse of the Ming knives, meaning that there is a definite relation between the two coinages. Exactly what this relation was is still not known. "Hua" is thought to refer to refer to the Ming knives as it translates to "knife," but given the weight discrapacy between the two coins, this seems a bit unlikely. 1851 Contemporary Counterfeit $2.50 Quarter Eagle $100 Very scarce to rare denomination for a contemporary counterfeit. I am guessing the value because there is little to compare it to. CC quarter eagles with gilt remaining or in better condition fetch $250-500 from cursory research. Little, if any, of the gilt is remaining, but most of the original details are there. Ex. Bill Fivaz
