I have been buying a few historical medals recently as I have always admired them, and the fact they are so big strangely attracts me too.
I bought this for a bit of fun yesterday......I am going to give it to my lad probably, or drill a large 80mm recess into his metal detecting wooden box and glue it in the lid. Its 270g and 80mm diameter! I know its not an accurate depiction of the original tetradrachm, but boy its a biggun and as I say....a bit of fun!
    The original is a
    Silver Tetradrachm, Leontini, 455 BC - 450 BC. 1997.9.120
Obverse horse quadriga to r.; above small Nike to l. crowning charioteer; lion in exergue
Reverse Head of Apollo to r. (Demareteion type) around three olive leaves and a lion.

That is actually really neat and huge too! Is it struck in silver? If so that would be awesome.

No, its bronze, but the pics look a bit silver dont they....?
I think its neat too, just because its metal and chunky mainly!

Yeah the first pic definitely looks silver. The second I can see a bit of the bronze colour coming through.
