ANACS authenticated my two circulated (fine detailed tailfeathers) Cheerios Dollars. I moved these pictures from the roll hunting forum to give more exposure to the coins. A special thanks to Capthenway for advising me to send these to ANACS.
By the way, the fine details are very hard to see, even more difficult to photograph. The fine details are quick to wear away. The person that found the AU58 stated he or she checked 25,000 dollars to find one.
As posted in another place, the quickest way to spot a fine detailed Cheerios dollar is to look for the flying bird with beak open or sideways fancy Y. This identifier was removed along with the fine details after the Cheerios Dollar run in 1999. This identifier survives longer than the details because it is protected by the legs and is set deeper.
ANACS and ICG will authenticate a circulated fine detailed (prototype, pattern) coin. PCGS refused to authenticate the AU55 as a Cheerios because they did not open the original package. NGC has the same policy. Further, PCGS will not recognize a non-fine detailed coin even if they open the original package. Go figure, can not fight policy.
