i finally e-mailed anacs on my submission here is the reply.

According to our records, your package was received in our office on 11/1/04. Economy speed turnaround time fluctuates based on the number of coins we have to process at the time yours are received. Recently we have been very busy processing large quantities of coins, particularly express/guaranteed ship ones. This has slowed economy service.

Currently we are needing economy packages approx. 12 weeks from receipt date, not including holidays and time in transit. Please feel free to contact me again closer to that timeframe if you need to know more specifically when your package will ship back to you.

    Thank you for your patience.

To me,waiting that long for your coins to be graded & returned to you is nothing short of pathetic.I can guess that if it goes missing in transit on the return journey, they will not take responsiblity.

The economy service is just that. They get to your coins AFTER those who have paid for the 5 day service. YGWYPF

This is not new. They will, and should, process the premium sales first and the bargin when the have time. They are running a business. This usually upsets a new customer but those of us who have been around awhile expect it.

I usually call ahead of time and ask them how busy they are and make my decision to send them in or not.

I posted "90 days and Counting" awhile back.

I was NOT happy with ANACS either as I got my coins on the 96th day. Economy service aside, I got NO email, no nothing that my coins were even received. The customer service was poor. Their attitude was. "What to you expect for this type of service?" I was prepared for 60 days at the most, but 3 months is ridiculous!

Other than error or varieties, I will NOT submit coins to ANACS again, unless I can be convinced otherwise.

Sounds just like PCGS to me. Only they usually take longer.

There's an easy cure for this problem - buy coins already slabbed - no waiting :D

Better yet, buy raw world coins. :D

    Spoil sport :p

As you probably already know Roy - I have never submitted even 1 coin to any grading company. If I feel comfortable with the authenticity of the coin - I'll buy a raw coin. But I have no quallms about buying one slabbed either. I rather like the slabs myself - whether I agree with the grades on them or not.

And with some of the coins I buy, they do add, shall we say, a certain level of comfort ;)
