Well, I just took the ANA survey. Some of the questions I left blank since I've never been to one of their conventions. If you (ANA Member) receive the survey I encourage you to take it. Take Care Ben
Saturday is the BIG day. The rep will be here then, keeping my fingers crossed... Take Care Buddy Ben
What with your collection & knowledge I bet your a shoo in . Good luck , not that you'll need it . Rusty
It was a survey designed to get responses they wanted. i agree with speedy it was one sided as well. I also spoke to ebay dont know which one was a bigger waste of time
Speedy, can you give me some examples of those questions? It may be that it was poorly written, and not so much one sided. but I dont know, Im not an ANA member.
I don't still have the link so I don't have the correct wording....but some of the questions were like this: How many ANA Shows have you attended in your lifetime: 1-4 5-6 7-9 10+ How would you rate the last show you went to on: Being Safe: 1 3 5 7 10 Being In a Good Location: 1 3 5 7 10 Being Clean: 1 3 5 7 10 Like I said---that is just like what they asked....and very one sided. To answer those questions you had to have been to at least one ANA show. Also there were some questions that would have to be answered by a dealer...such as: How much money do you have to make at an ANA show to feel that it was worth your time? Speedy
I know what you mean Speedy about the choices. Don't know if I would have used (one sided) but some of the questions definitely didn't apply to me. As far as the ANA membership goes all I did was call and give my credit card # three years ago. I didn't have a sponsor whatsoever. Take Care Ben
I don't get it, what's the advantage of using a sponsor to join the ANA. Does the sponsor get a discount, airline miles, or membership points? LOL. Ben
To the best of my knowledge there is no advantage to having a sponsor - for the member or the sponsor. But you absolutely don't need a sponsor to join. Yes the survey was geared somewhat towards dealers and I can understand that. It is the fees paid by the dealers after all that make the shows possible. But there were also quite a few questions that dealt only with members. I'd say the split was about 60/40 - dealers/members.
Some of the questions had to do with dealers leaving early, pricing of tables and how to use tables near the main entrance. I got the feeling the ANA is trying to find out what attendees want at a show. What better way to give people what they want than by asking them?
