I was reading through this month's Numismatist when I came upon the info for the summer seminars. I've read up on these before and they sound like a great educational opportunity. There is a course or 2 that piqued my interest but I'm not sure if I'd be able to get away to attend. Being a stay-at-home Mom makes the scheduling a bit difficult since my husband travels a lot and Joe wouldn't be old enough to go with me for a YN session. Has anyone here ever gone to one? I would appreciate hearing your impressions on the curriculum and overall review. Is anyone planning on attending this summer?
I can't attend either because of the kids, and it's a little far for me anyway. I have looked into their correspondence courses, though, and have every intention of starting them at the end of this year. I have heard nothing but good things about the ANA's education program.
While the seminars would be great - you can take the same course by correspondence without ever leaving your home
It is true that the correspondence courses are what they say they are, but it doesn't beat the actual attendance of one of their sessions. The few times I have taken advantage of this program, has been nothing but a great experience. Very educational, you won't go to sleep in one of these classes.
