My show writeup is here yet I thought I would share my pickups (3 others with NGC which I will post when returned) - http://forums.collectors.com/messageview.cfm?catid=6&threadid=949144 The first cathedral Taler piece represents a spectacular design and eye appeal which caught my attention. While, I have a very nice one in my collection, this one is nicer - what sharp details on the cathedral, saints, bishops, faces. As a reference, this coin is a commemorative issue struck for the Consecration of Salzburg Cathedral in 1628 with obverse imagery featuring the facade of the Cathedral flanked by bishops and reverse devices depicting bishops carrying a reliquary with angels below. The second piece is a coin which I really like and doesn't often come like this. Large flan coin with a lovely portrait. The subtle iridescence is a real plus. These don't come as nice and I had to make a move as a pricey upgrade.
Damn, that Salzburg is magnificent! I've wanted one of those consecration talers ever since I went to visit Salzberg last summer.
I have add, if you agree, to my blog http://moneditis.com your link http://forums.collectors.com/messageview.cfm?catid=6&threadid=949144 to your very interesting comments on World´s fair of money. Thank You
