    You can check to see if it has 3 legs on the buffalo, that would be a clue, otherwise try a small dab of the works toilet bowl cleaner on the date area. Lots of people buy dateless buffalos to make into jewelry.

    hi coke, your nickel is worth maybe somewhere in the range of 30 to 50 cents. Collectors like to have at least partial dates to identify them, however there are folks that horde them regardless of condition or date. I think the buffalo nickel might very well be the most horded coin.

    El Capitan also has a point. A lot of people buy dateless buffalo nickels for jewelry and clothing accents.

    Numismatically, they aren't worth a whole lot, but neat to have!
