The following is from an exchange with a certain eBay seller(?) I think most of you will pick up on who. It's in reference to a certain Jefferson nickel missing a word from the reverse from the motto notice how she dances around the question, which is very specific lol: Dear *****_**103, Is this an error from the mint? -******1963 Dear a******1963, I found this nickel in our coin jar, not in the mint. I can take more pictures for you if you need to see something in particular. The photos are there so you can see exactly what I am selling. If you are unsure this coin is what you want or collect, feel free to use the photos and show them, post them, email them or print them to people who might know. - ******_**103 Dear ******_**103, I don't think you're understanding. Is this an mint error coin; in other words the error on the reverse was caused at the mint? -******1963 Dear ******1963, Is there a way I should be able to tell for you? If there is something that I can photograph to help you determine it, please let me know what you would like to see. -******_**103 Dear ******_**103, Are you saying you don't know if it is mint damage or damage cause after it left the mint? -******1963 Dear ******1963, I am saying, the auction is a nickle with the "UNIM" missing. Please see the photos. I can magnify them for you if you wish. - *******_**103 This is a pic of the item in question:
What difference does it make how the seller answers? Can you not see for yourself that its the result of a grease filled die with rolling machine damage?
BU, are you saying she knows it's PMD and trying not to say? Seems pretty clear to me she doesn't know........"Is there a way I should be able to tell for you?" Because I would say she pretty blatantly says look, judge, and buy it if you want, if not, don't buy it.
I must agree - assumptions and insinuations can be deadly. You see it, buy it or not - buyer be ware...
What he is getting at is that she has been told on this forum, in a thread that has since been locked, that some of her coins are not errors but post mint damage.
She isn't claiming that this is a mint error, either in the auction or in the exchange of messages. I don't see anything here that justifies continued harassment, or more new threads.
BUuncirculated, Save yourself the aggravation.. let it go, don't you think? You most likely are not going to fix that problem.. I do mean that kindly. Hope you take it that way. Lucy
I don't think the seller " Danced around " anything. BU, you weren't hearing what you wanted to hear , which would have surely produced controversial opinions, at best. PMD .
