I can't seem to find a source for the proof gold American eagle coin mintage numbers for 2000 through 2005 [1, 1/2, 1/4, and 1/10th ounce coins]. I even tried searching this forum. Is there a place to get pretty reliable numbers?

    Thanks in advance.

Thanks. Now the all important followup question, which I also asked in another thread but did not yet receive a reply.

One source I've seen indicates that the lowest mintage AGE is the 2001 Proof $25 American Gold Eagle at 23,261. The US Mint website indicates that the 1995 Proof $25 American Gold Eagle was the lowest at 15,286.

I wouldn't mind owning an example of the lowest mintage AGE [proof and/or uncirculated] but I want to make sure I buy the right coin. Which one is right, or are they both wrong?

IIRC, the mint number is unreliable because it lists the number of coins slod in the year and not the number of coins minted, meaning that near the start of each year when the previous year's coin is still available the sales of the previous year's coin is cointed in the mint's number of coins sold in that current year.

CT is correct. The Mint's page that list mintage numbers for the business strike eagles has the correct numbers. The sales page however does not.

Mintage numbers for both Proof and business strike are listed in the Red Book by the way.

Okay, thanks. Then it seems that the 1/2 ounce 2001 proof AGE so far has the lowest mintage in the series.
