I just got a American coin and stamp brokerage mailer. I have no idea how I got, but I was just wondering has anyone ever dealt with them?
I had used them quite often in the past. You MUST read the "Terms and Conditions of Sale" carefully! You must have reasonable cause to return an item. Certified coins are not returnable for any reason. It isn't like eBay/PayPal where you can return something just because you changed your mind. With that said, here are some additional suggestions and personal observations which may help you to decide if you want to give ACSB a try: 1) Their estimated grades for raw Morgans may be off slightly, but they are pretty up front when it comes to assessing problem coins. (NOTE: I can't speak for other denominations.) 2) Their VAM attributions for Morgans are pretty accurate. 3) Their DMPL attributions are poor on raw Morgans. I can only assume that they are using the most minimal reflectivity standards. 4) Their prices are only auction estimates, and I've experienced an 85% success rate bidding as much as 20% below these estimates; my success rate drops to about 70% when bidding 25% below the estimates. 5) These are blind auctions, but you do have the option of calling them to discuss the grade or condition of any lot listed.
