I was searching a roll of 1959 P LMC that I have had since, well, 1959. I found 7 that are obviously from the same die. That is always fun. They all have the same die scratch just under the numeral 1. Some photos attached.
Interesting. I would have thought that would be a roller mark or alloy inclusion if it wasn't repeated. Looking closer, isn't there also an artifact in line with the bridge of his nose?
Yes, there are numerous polish lines that are the same on each coin. I've had this roll since 1959, along with many others. I have found conditions in many rolls that demonstrate that the coins came from the same dies. Makes it fun.
Great post. Makes you wonder if those abrasion lines were to remove a clash. The first picture almost looks like a column under the chin, of course it just may be toning.
I am still reviewing all the stuff I have. I will look closer. Thanks for the feedback. I'm about to post some 1960 P LMC's with 2 identical die cracks on the head. There were at least 11 in the same roll.
