I was giving this a lot of thought. There has got to be another way to buy and sell coins, paper money, books, supplies, etc. Ebay has pretty much got the market cornered when it comes to online auctions. They have everything and anything. But what if there were different site dedicated to specific items only. Like for: coins: Cbay paper money: Pbay collecting supplies: Sbay Im just thinking out loud. I know that craigslist has categories to list item but its kind primitive. Not to mention its not auction based. What other ways are there really to sell things online with out having to start your own website? Buying on ebay isnt sooo bad, as long as your educated enough to know what your getting. But selling on ebay is a disaster. Fees, Fees, Fees. I mean seriously I know its probably cheaper than having a store front but between ebay/paypal there is only one company getting rich here and its not any of us. Ok im rambling...Im done
I know what you mean. I wasnt meaning that actual use of that particular name but just a suggestion for a specific site for specific items
http://www.delcampe.net is a valid alternative. Strong in what North Americans call "world coins". Fees are nothing comparing to ebay (no listing fees and cheaper than ebay when actually selling) and all the horrible ebay rules which make a seller's life miserables are not applied. The site is french oriented but UK and US flanks are getting stronger by the day. Store items are included in the search engine and if you conduct a search through the dot net site you see all lists (i.e. full international visibility). I am using it (on and off) for some time now and it's fun not being under the ebay "eye" any longer.
Once in a while I buy coins on eBay; another site I use is http://www.muenzauktion.com (auctions) and their "sister site" http://www.ma-shops.de (online stores) ... Christian
Wouldn't coinbug.com be a better solution? Its not an auction site but I like the layout and the ease of use. And, its free.
I have made a few transactions of coibug- not an auction site but somewhat cheap prices and a pretty wide variety of coins to choose from.
Here are 2 sites I would recommend http://www.davidlawrence.com/index.cfm?CFID=584&CFTOKEN=15FB60A5-1AA2-4807-8A27C80C43043FF9 http://coins.ha.com/default.php
