This patriotic civil war token, which I think is a 210/416 but I could be off, has a lot going on, I wanted to post here for comment. I assume this token was struck with inferior minting equipment and dies, as I believe the case was for many of these. The obverse has a cud at about 1:30 The reverse is a mess. The lettering ANYBODY ATTEMPTS has been highly affected by the state of the die ('crumbling'?): The lettering of SHOOT looks to have been repunched, or at least that's what I would call it on a coin from this era. Note the faint Y right of the T, I don't know why it is there, since the next word over is HIM. These look to me like die polish lines, note that they don't show on the upraised lettering. And some die cracks.
I LOVE IT. I have always loved the Civil war type coinage. That is one heck of a nice piece to have. Very nice indeed. I am assuming the weird prupleish color is just in the picture and not on the actual coin?
Way cool token, and it looks like a cud at 2:00 obverse as well, wow, wonder how many tokens that die has struck
