Where did they come from? I got a notice as well. I did order them, since I was shut out the first time.
Actually, the D and S appear to be available - at present. Now the S is out. Now the D is gone, but P still there. P gone. I did manage to get a couple CC's and an O before window shut.
Makes sense. Now I'm glad I was only able to snag two Peace Dollars. When I got the email, I was thinking "did they mint more or did they just find some behind a filing cabinet?" Now I'm wondering if you can return returns if necessary. Still, since I was bidding for these on eBay it does feel like a minor score.
After seeing the problems that the Morgans were riddled with, I am assuming these were returns and the people who get this batch will probably less than happy with what they receive. Hopefully I'm wrong but the Mint doesn't have a great track record.
I see no reason why you could not return returns. Some of these may have been eyeballed and the recipient did not see it grading a 70 so returned. They all may have been inspected and might be okay, but one never knows.
You can return anything you buy from the mint within the window from when you get it. They claim they never sell returns so theyd deny it was a return of a return, but no one really believes that and theres been evidence over the years that they do just send it to someone else or resell it
Yea...I had a slew of Notifications in my e-mail today. Just casually interested but didn't buy any...or figured they'd be gone or the Mint website was crashed or something. What's the point anyway...
I didn't get in on the first go arounds, work got in the way. I had asked to be notified if they became available again. I got an email that the "CC" was available and when I logged into the Mint site I noticed that they all were available. I put one of each and a Peace Dollar in the cart and headed for checkout. After putting in my Credit Card info, I got a notice that I had and "Invalid" item in my cart. I checked the cart and it said that the "CC" was sold out. I removed it from the cart and tried checking out again. Same thing happened this time with the "O". I grabbed another Peace Dollar while there and got checked out as fast as I could. After getting confirmation on the purchase I looked back and all were gone. Then I got a text saying that the "CC" was in stock. Wish that I had gotten a couple more Peace Dollars to trade for the ones I wasn't able to get. First time I have ever been notified of more being available and I have tried to get notified on many more restocks of sold outs in years passed. Still waiting on the Truman Coin and Chronicles Set I missed out on.
LOL since today's release check out price drops on Ebay all of the above! Guess I take my hoard of Morgans/Peace and Reverse Enhanced and save 10-15 years!
They sent me a notice for Maryland AI reverse proof dollar coin for some reason, which I didn't set a reminder for and wasn't ever unavailable. I should have thought to go check the website. Oh well. Did they release more mint sets also? That's the only thing I'm really hoping for.
Coin World reported the December 14th sales. A number of coins in each option, made available through order cancellations and program reconciliation, quickly sold out again. The U.S. Mint raised the original one-coin-per-household order limit to allow three coins of each option.
