its a marketing gimmick. there are a ton of notes like this one floating around with different themes ... all can be bought for a small premium for a pack of 100 or so. NONE are legal tendor, and as such none should be used to buy anything, and none should be recieved as change.

I have no idea how i got this in change it was rolled up with other dollars in a pack.i never seen this before why would somebody put this in circulation pretty sick to do that.I think they found this at the crash site in Roswell not the crop circles. I hope the aliens are not messing with our bills and altering them. Thanks for the input on this strange 51 dollar Bill weird.

I actually have a bunch of novelty bills... some of them have neat designs and/or are really clever. Absolutely worthless except for novelty value of course, but can still be a fun thing to collect.

BTW while it is legal to make these, buy these, own these, or sell these (so long as you don't claim it to be legal tender currency when you sell them) it is NOT legal to attempt to spend, deposit, or in any way attempt to pass these off as legal tender currency. Don't even joke about it, lest a merchant or banker without a sense of humor decides to call the police! People actually have been arrested for trying to spend or deposit novelty bills (million dollar bills especially) so don't press your luck. (In cases where it's obvious the offender was just being stupid, or funny, or both, they probably got let off with a warning; but blatant cases of attempting to fraudulently passing non legal tender novelties as legal tender payment have landed some people in prison for a while.)
