Are there any DANSCO or other similar high quality albums for Canadian coins such as the toonie, loonie, and the 50 cent coins? My searches have been disappointing.
I just bought a Whitman folder for the pre-1967 loonies. There's not a whole lot out there, I would have preferred a Dansco presentation above all else.
I have a decent album for Canadian nickels. I bought it with some nickels in it. It's old, though, it's only dated through 1973. Let's see who makes it... It is a Harco Coinmaster album. Never heard of them before I bought this, and I've never seen one since. But maybe try to search for that. Danscos are better, this this one is decent. EDIT: Here's a link, lots of them for sale (not the same, but similar it says): http://www.brent-krueger.com/gardmaster.html
You could always have Dansco create a album for your Canadian coins. They have it on their site where you can adjust the sizes of the slots for whatever coin you want and as many pages as you want. You may have to label them yourself but you will have a book with the correct dimensions you want. Im doing this for my Italian 100 Lire Set. Hope this helps
Take a look through all of the Brooklyn Gallery site, since things are filed in strange places sometimes, especially books and supplies. Here is one of the pages that you are looking for, but there are many blank albums that can be assembled: http://www.brooklyngallery.com/cgi-bin/commerce.exe?search=action&category=0105&keywords=all
Pre-67 Loonies? Loonies did not come into existence until 1987. (Loonie is not a generic term for Canadian dollars. It came into existence in reference to the Loon on the back of the Canadian small sized dollar.)
A thought about Harco I cannot say that your album has anything wrong with it but US coin Harco albums I have handled were loaded with PVC in the slide in strips that had pockets in them for coins. I saw some very valuable Indian Head cents and Buffalo nickels destroyed with green and black PVC in Harco albums from the 70's. I think that they have since corrected the plastic in their albums but I am not going to put any of my coins in one. PS: I stumbled on this topic looking for albums for Canadian Large Cents. I am going to keep mine in 2x2's but was curious what dates they have slots for in an album.
Hmm. That's not good news. I may have to get mine out and take a look. Maybe get the nickels out. It's obviously from 1973ish, and has the slide in plastic slides you mentioned. Fingers crossed.
