I am surfing Ebay for walking halves and see some with very nice brilliant rainbow toning, then I see some with what is described as "Album Toning". What is album toning? Do coins really tone differently when in an album?
Dime: Yes they do, especially, the old Wayte Rayomond albums, which contained sulphur and (after quite a few years) gave a beautiful tone to silver coins.
I have a set of bu silver roosevelts in a library of coins album and the toning is quite nice (they appear to have been in the album since the 60's).
