I purchased a 1953 uncirculated mint set from the Royal Mint and the plastic was split and coins started falling out. I purchased Air Tites direct fit in the closest sizes,mm, and all fit well except the 3 pence piece. It seems to be a bit "portly" for the holder, it's thickness wont let the two halfs snap completely tight. Does Air Tite make holders for foreign coins?---John
I had a ton of air tites and they were all made for u.s. size coins. There is rubber rings you can buy that go into them to accommodate the size difference but the actual thickness, no.
If the fit is close, you can try laying a bead of clear silicone caulk around the seam. The smaller the tube you buy, the easier it is to handle. Use a hat pin to puncture it. You can smooth it out buy putting water on your finger and lightly rubbing the caulk. It remains elastic when it dries, so you can peel it off if you ever need to remove the coin.
Air-Tite does make holders for thicker coins, they are called the Model X holder. But they only come in a few sizes - 38, 39, 40, 43, and 44mm.
Yup, Model Y is even thicker but those only come in 47mm and 50.8mm. Likely best to use one of either model X or Y and get a custom insert ring to fit the actual coin.
