    Hello everyone, newbie here.

I am getting back into coin collecting. Do you recommend Air-Tite holders or Coin World slabs? Also, is there much of a difference between Coin World slabs and BCW? The BCW is less expensive but I know that can be good or bad. I like Air-Tites, but they don't stack well in a box. Any other suggestions?

I currently have about 80% of my coins in coin world slabs. Overall I really like them. There is a few coins I had a heck of a time getting into the holes but its all about being careful.

My world coins, since they are in odd sizes from U.S., are in Air-Tites and as you pointed out, they dont store to well in a case. I have them stacked and even though the case isnt moved around much they still slide occasionally and leave scratches on the plastic.

I have no experience with BCW. But overall I think coin world slabs are worth the few bucks for a 3 pack.

if you have some very valuable coins in great condition, getting them graded is better. Im thinking of coughing up the $ for it near the end of the year for some few hundred dollar each coins.

    Welcome to CT.

I recommend Air-Tites and also recommend you figure out how important your coins and maintaining their condition are to you in case you can make your budget work to get the best holders for your money and coins.

I also recommend using the search function here at the top of each page to look up recent and many other threads on members' suggestions when it comes to supplies. Here's just a few:

    Airtite, or not?

  5. I have used airtite holders in the past but have also been starting to use Intercept Shield holders as well. TC

I only use Airtites, they are cheap in bulk. I usually staple them into 2x2's because they are easy to handle/store then.

Can you get a 2x2 around a silver dollar sized Air-Tite?

I'm storing mine in Air-Tites as there are a number of ads on eBay for Tubes that hold Air-Tites. Just search, Air Tite Tubes.

Probably, never tried that because I only collect small cents. It's NO problem with small cents. You only need to put one staple in it opposite the folding edge.
