Hi I am in the process of transferring the coins in my collection in Whitman books to tubes... the only problem with that is that I would like to view them, i prefer the air-tite holders to protect them; so does anyone know of an album that holds the air-tite containers in the cardboard pages or something of the sort ( so I can view both the obverse and the reverse). Or does anyone know of albums that preform the same function like an air-tite container would? (preferably air tight or as sealed as possible).

Or any other suggestions on how to store and view my collection nicely, but not cost more than half of my collection? :rolling:

    Many thanks!:D

They do make an air-tight album for just about any coin you can think of.....however I have found that it did not work out for me as planed. I purchased an mess of air tights for my IHC collection. I also ordered the album to put them in. However the album did not have enough pages to hold the complete IHC collection. I would need to buy another page or album to house the complete IHC collection. Try JP Corner coin supplies do a web search for the store in the mid west U.S. I like the look of this album and the fact that it has a slip case and is safety deposit box sized so you can keep it in a bank vault box with no problems. Before you make a purchase make sure you do your homework as to how many coins you want to house in each album...not just years and mint marks but varieties also...I myself like kointains I use Kointains small 1x1's and an p touch to do my lettering and labels. I then put my coins in a binder with the plastic pages for my Jeffersons it have worked great. Give JP's a look hope this helps out. Paddy

One suggestion is to purchase Whitman or any manufacturers Albums that are blank covers and blank pages. You can then use the Nickel sizes for your airtight Cents. Similar you can build a Nickel one with blank pages for Quarters. Dimes too then would fit in the Cent pages.
If you use this method, check coin shops or Whitman on line for thier press on Gold letters/numbers to make your own lables for your coins.
I've done similar things by making a Liberty Head/Mercury Dime/Roosevelt Dime Album all in one cover. Naturally no room for proofs or error coins.
Another suggestion which is really a lot cheaper and the most safe I know of is to simply put your Whitman Albums in a Gallon Sized Zip Lock Plastic bag and push out as much air as possible. I do this with all my Whitman Albums and have well over 100 of them and no problems with any coins toning, tarnishing, corroding, fading, etc.
