This is one of those AI photos so terrible that it makes me both laugh and cringe due to the quality. So I must do my work and provide a very not expert anslysis on these coins.

I'm unsure who put this ad up, but I was getting ready to search some things when I saw this. And since it's Super Bowl Sunday and I obviously don't have much to do as I anticipate the Daytona 500, here are my takeaways.

    1. The 1949 penny has a very distorted date, if it's even a '49 judging by that 2nd 9 (yuck). The coin pictured appears to be in F-15-ish details, cleaned and damaged, aka 3 to 8 cents in value. The lettering looks doubled; correct me if I'm wrong but I'm almost certain there are no major DDOs on 1949 cents.

    2. They nearly got the 1910 good except 1910 has a larger date! The date size here matches a 1912-1919. And that one looks to be a damaged 1916, 18, or 19. Or, they may have given up on trying to alter a common date into a 14-D.

    3. Since when was MS-68 put on a coin? The Mint sure has done more questionable things than I can count but this is definitely not one of them. And it just so happens to be that this coin appears to be cleaned, damaged, and in VF-20 details at best. If I were selling that, it might not even make it to my 25 cent teen wheats.

I'm a firm believer that AI should be saved specifically for meme purposes, but not for generating distorted images of pennies that make new collectors think they've just become a (insert number of 0's after 1 here).

I dunno why but this analysis was a thrill to make fun of.
