Ahom Kingdom (Assam, India) 1/2 Rupee

    Here is a nice little 1/2 Rupee from the late 18th (1769-1780) Century empire of the Ahom Empire. Again, pleas forgive me if the inscription is upside down. This coin weighs 5.6 grams.

    You got it right on the orientation. Its from Lakshmi Simha (1769-1780 AD), not dated. I like it!

    Very nice half rupee coin of Lakshmi Simha. Thanks for sharing with us.

    For all Assam kingdom coins, only one rupee and quarter rupee coins were dated and none of the half rupees had date on them.
