apparently in 2009 there will be the US protectorates And washintgton DC quarters but what will they do in 2010? what about VP quarters if the first spouses can be set in gold...
With the Lincoln Cent going through a change in '09 and the State Quarters program ending, I would like to see the Mint do a complete overhaul of their coin designs starting in 2010. New designs for the cent, nickel, dime, quarter, and half dollar. Anyone else agree?
yes, nee designs would be great. but think about who designing these! the us mint! they will make the new coins soooooooo ugly!
4th i don't know why they didn't do that earlier since they changed to kennedy the year after he was shot
Maybe if we elect a president who would be personally interested in redesigning our national coinage like Teddy Roosevelt was. Maybe then we could see some designs that are as beautiful as those from the beginning of the 20th century.
I would like to see Jesus on a coin but I highly doubt that would ever happen in America (at least for pennies, nickels, etc)
I'm for "Crazy Willie" replacing Washington in the Quarter. :goofer: But seriously, I think it time for an overhaul. Maybe a new mint director = new, fresh ideas.
I hope they re-do all the coins as well. However, I guess I'll break from tradition for the past century, as I'm tired of seeing old Presidents on my money. I'd like to see Liberty take prominence on coinage again. There weren't any presidents as beautiful as she was, and I want to see some beauty in numismatics again. Guy~
I'm sure it's been said here 1,000 times but... go back to the profiles whatever you do. I don't care if they put Bigfoot on the coin, just don't do a 3/4 view, please. OK, so I don't want Bigfoot, but...
It won't be done because congress has to actually pass some legislation to change the coinage. We could be waiting for years. Maybe the ANA could lobby for the change to speed things along.
Probably because both Ron and Nancy Reagan were against the idea of his portrait replacing Roosevelt on the dime.
