Wow, that was quick. It only took me 8 years of searching to find my first web note! It is a 1988A Atlanta note F87797655L in circulated condition. This wouldn't be remarkable other than I work retail and have searched unknown thousands of dollars looking for one. I am now looking for my second.....no, wait, I think I'll try for an 1804 dollar instead. Its easier. What a hobby...
Congrats! How about a picture - I finally found one earlier this year, but it only took me a year to find it. Now when ever I go to the back I always get 20 ones, just to search. Nothing in months, but I did add a series 1988a series note(nothing special, but it only cost me a $1).
Congrats also from me. Years ago I use to get stacks of them and turned a nice dollar on some of them. Now please make sure both serial number match because a young lady from Michigan found one that had F/L on one side and F/* on the other serial number.
Nice find! Webs can still be found in circulation, as you just proved. I have found i think 4 total. The rest in my collection i have purchased. Alot of times, they get spent by the kids of collectors. Such a shame to have a note like that spent on a pack of gum! In the lower right corner of the note should be a 1 digit number, and then on the back in the upper right center, should be another 1 digit number. Post those 2 numbers, and we can tell you what kind of find you found The 1988A FL block, run 14, didnt produce any of the 50 rarest webs, but some can still be pretty hard to find. Actually - ANY 1988A web is pretty hard to find just because it took a while for collectors back in the day to realize what was going on.
i cant tell redwin117 - is the seris date 1988A? Can you see the numbers to the right and above the lower right district number?? If so, what do they say? Also, what does the reverse look like? What do you see for the plate number??
Here is the note I found. The more I look at it the less I like it. (After so much searching and frustration, my first impression was that it was pretty nice!) I am thinking that it will go on Ebay and I'll take whatever it brings in and bank it towards something more pleasing.
