Hi all, I'm not a paper guy. I accumulate it, but I am really into US coins. I did score on a long shot, and am now wondering whether just to authenticate the signature or actually send it in for grading as well. Is this worth grading? There are some pin holes and a wallet fold, but overall it is in pretty nice condition. Thoughts and advice? For those wondering, the signature is Steve Wynn - Casino magnate. It needs authentication, but from what I can see - it's legit. Once I figure out whether to grade or not, I'll get it off for verification. Thanks in advance!
I think it is, especially if you can get the signature authenticated and for the signature to be acknowledged on the holder from the grading company.
I agree with @NOS and @davidw , and would recommend having it authenticated by a TPG. Too bad about the heavy wallet stain or whatever the dark discoloration is on the ends. I really like the Grover Cleveland portrait...one of my favorites.
Inasmuch as I could care less for TPG's that is one I would have authenticated and graded for resale.
I'm going to stretch and say VF-25, signs of a rust stain probably from a paper clip in the upper left of the note. On the reverse there are discernable paper breaks in the centre fold. All in all though, it is not a bad note for what appears to have been a wallet piece.
