Its been quite a while since I posted on this forum. I have been looking through my stash of pennies as a late. Aren't there anything out of the ordinary about 1958 wheat pennies? Am I suppose to look for errors of any kind? What if they are toned to a degree? Thanks.
The same errors found on all other years. Now if there are a few varieties for 1958 go to varietyvista.com to search. Yes there is a difference between mint error and a variety.
Only 3 have ever been found with the DDO. Toning does not change the hardest of the coin as a coin is graded by wear, not the color.
There's nothing worth looking for in terms of varieties unique to these. If you've got nothing to do there are nearly a hundred RPMs that aren't worth anything you can look for. As far as errors go, they're on every coin, but you've got to know what they look like, but they're worth holding onto.
