    Looks like a plating issue very common on zinc Lincoln cents which has no added value.

    Is she talking about the machine doubling on "Liberty"? Agree that the surfaces look odd.

    I don't see machine doubling, what I see looks more like either die deterioration doubling, or as mentioned plating problem. Possibly both.

    I would still say it's plating issues, not doubling of any kind.

    EDIT - I say that because of the obvious plating issues with the surrounding fields, etc.

    The last pictures I would say definitely die deterioration doubling with maybe some plating issues thrown in too.

    Not a mint error. Somebody probably ground it down with sandpaper or a rasp.

    It's a worn down, or ground down cent.

    Proper term for it is Post Strike Damage (PSD).
