    try reading left to right, thats how they do it in japan.

    it might be 1899 but i dont know if im right.

    Hello and welcome.

    My best guess is year 30. (1897)

    It's definitely year 30, so 1897 is correct.

    Actually, "year 30" without specifying that it was minted during the Meiji Era, isn't enough to make it 1897CE. There was also a year 30 in the Showa Era (1955).
