Acetone cleaning?

    Hi all,
    Is it safe to place a Lincoln cent in acetone, and if Yes for How long shold i leave the coin in it ?

    Depends on what you are trying to do. If you are trying to remove PVC from the coin to prevent further damage - then yes go ahead and do so.

    Other than that, I would not. Others my disagree with this, but acetone can cause copper coins to turn all sorts of weird colors.
