I just bought a roll of 1964 Kennedy coins and I think I might have an accented hair variation. Looks like it has the "Truncated Serif", "Broken Rays" and "Straight G". What do you think: Having trouble uploading the Ray and straight g, try again tomorrow.
That sure looks like the A/H from the broken base of the "I". You might also check for either of the DDO's, FS-103 & FS-401. Chris
more pictures YAY!!!!! You have no idea how excited I am... I've been wanting an A/H for the longest time. I am trying to distinguish between the DDO's, FS-103 & FS-401 varieties. I am not sure what ddo and fs means, tried looking it up. Double date? Here are a few more pix, I am not sure if these tell the story. Thanks everyone!
DDO = Double Die Obverse DDR = Double Die Reverse I don't see any doubling on the obverse near the date or lettering.
Here a grade 64 Heavy hair accent close up that may help? what Chris has already replied & the link below will help you find out what other Die Varieties the coin may have. http://conecaonline.org/
I am sure it's clear as day for the trained eye, but I am not sure where my coin stands and just like a proud parent, my baby is the most beautiful one...lol : )
FS is the prefix used in the Cherrypickers Guide for each variety. It represents the initials of the two authors, Bill Fivaz and JT Stanton. The FS-103 has obverse doubling on IGWT, LIBERTY, the date and the upper hair near the "R" of LIBERTY. Chris
nice one Ouch, that's so beautiful it hurts... I think ngc came up a bit short on that one, I'd say thats a ultra cameo. I tried taking another picture(i love taking pictures in the light box) to see if I could a better result...
