I took the liberty of making a check list to keep track of all your coins in you collection so you don't have to always look threw a binder/box I will be making a dollar section later when i have more time and I'll be posting it separately if you want to make sure you get it just let me know by posting that you downloaded the original and want the dollar set later and I'll pm the download link to when when its finish. Feel free to redistribute or edit this to you liking I did this for me so it's set up to my liking but I thought since I put the work into it I might as well share it. http://www.4shared.com/file/gcNSbRlR/Coin_Collecting_Checklist.html Edit: due to some confusion I have created blank check lists that you can download and print out in order to check off the coins you have for your self for your own records. Sorry for the confusion I have created.
Are you saying that you are keeping track of coins that CoinTalk members report owning here? If so I would suggest that you are crossing the line and venturing into the realm of invasion of privacy.
Wow, talk about jumping on someone without first checking it out. It's blank checklists that anybody can use to keep track of the coins they need to complete a set. Cool, but not my cup of tea. I like spreadsheets more.
I mainly set up my own Excel sheets but I like to look at other peoples structure to get ideas and was curious to see how you set yours up.
After a LOT of formatting and reformatting I finally got my inventory the way I want it. I have used Excel. I like Excel because I can make sorts. I also have a column that links to my images that I have on my computer.
I just have one spreadsheet with separate pages for each major US Denomination, all misc. US currency, and foreign.
This word program is great for the carry-around-when-shopping list! I'd love an excel sheet to keep track of my coins' books, one that adds up columns and rows for $ out and $ in. I've tried to set it up but always end up getting frustrated and giving up with the promise to one day take the time to learn excel... Or my wife will say, " I'm gunna take a class in Excel when things slow down," and I'm like, "Great, I'll just wait until that year."
I'm not sure that information collected from public posts would be an invasion of privacy, per se...suspicious, yes!
Not my cup of tea. Far too much work for a limited use document IMHO. Besides, that type of listing for world coins (including US) has already been done, with much more detail - it's called the Standard Catalog of World Coins from Krause Publications. From an extensive Excel/Quatro/Lotus-type spreadsheet it is very easy to print out an up-to-date list of what I'm going to be looking for at any coin show. I generally include the XF value on my list as a buying guide. (XF is my favorite grade because it balances full details with evidence of actual use in the historical era of production.)
I have no clue what you are referring to. My spreadsheets basically have different pages for each denomination and then the headers go year, mintmark, slabbed?, grade, acquire date, price paid, sell date, price sold, profit (loss), notes. Well, they don't have price sold and profit (loss) yet, but that's just because I don't ever really sell anything.
