I’d like to share a very nice and very rare Henry III penny with you. As you can figure out, it is a Class 4b Henry III Voided Long Cross penny in EF condition. It was well struck and has a very nice tone. The mint and moneyer combination is London Nicole, a rather common moneyer at a rather common mint. But please remember that Class 4 is a rare class in the Henry III VLC coinage. And Class 4b is very very rare, much rarer than Class 4a or 4ab. So a rather common mint/moneyer combination is not common any more in this class. There is only 1 London Nicole Class 4b penny among the known 20369 London pennies and the known 55275 British pennies from the Brussels Hoard of 1908. There are only 8 among 5117 London pennies and 14076 pennies from the Colchester Hoard of 1969. So this penny doesn’t need any more words. Just enjoy! Assur
That Henry III has got a serious attitude problem!! (he's staring at me as if he thinks he's all that!!) ... hmmm, I guess he has the right, eh? => amazing eye-appeal ... super lookin' coin!! (thanks for sharing)
Paul Williams => welcome ummm, you seem a bit rattled that people aren't answering your post? - firstly, what post? - secondly, you should read "The Site Intro Rules" ... no multiple posting - thirdly (most importantly) => sit-back, read a bunch of posts and ease your way into the stream (however, I entered the system in the same fashion as you => like a wounded, drunken bear in search of food in the ol' china shoppe!!) again => "welcome"
