Alrighty - I'm going to put a little twist on the Guess the Grade today. We have here 2 Double Eagles, both of them from 1904. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is as follows (no cheating!):

    1. Guess the Grades of both of these $20s.

    2. Guess the price difference between the two.

    3. Guess which one I bought.

I'll post my pictures of one of them tomorrow.

First one a 61 second a 63. I'm guessing $100 difference the lower $100 more and you bought it. The first one has an absolutely great strike tho

Sounds (and looks) like our collective eye appeal should suggest different grades but I suspect both got the same grade. I'll go with 64 because of the bottom one. However, they sell for the same price. I wonder if you didn't buy the top one(?) because you figured the other would go beyond your budget only to surprise you later that it was the same as the one you got.

Both look pretty high end and the first looks at least pl though some of these have graded dmpl. Worth around $2K plus or minus.

I'll guess the first coin is MS 62 PL and the second MS 64. Given your dedication to PL coins I think you bought the first one with a price difference of about $1200.

Good guesses so far, everyone. Here are my pictures of the one I bought - do these change anyone's opinions? I'll post the answers tonight:

    Thought so. :)

Now it remains to see how far wrong I was on the price difference. :wideyed:
