    Ouch! Corrosion, dug up from the ground, chemicals, salt water...pick one.

    Thats so sad, if it was in the ground at one time it could have had a different color also the soil ph does the damage. Being a metal detector nut the different colors of the coins (or junk) and the type of damage you can tell where the coin came IF its not wire brushed or sprayed with some nitric acid/whatevers under the kitchen sink. Sorry not to helpful, need to wake up
